What it does
Open a document, run a check, and review suggestions side by side with your text. Accept or reject each change yourself. Export a corrected file when you’re done. The default path is a fast on-device grammar engine — not a remote model.

On-device grammar
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style rules run in-process on your device. No PureEdit cloud for your draft.
Real documents
Word, Pages, LibreOffice, rich text, plain text, and Markdown — open, check, and export.
You stay in control
Review every suggestion. Accept one at a time, ignore words you choose, or apply fixable items in batch.
Optional AI style
A separate, opt-in on-device style pass (Apple Intelligence / local model). Not required for normal checking — and not a cloud chatbot.
No account to check
Open a file and check. Purchases use the App Store when you unlock full documents; checking itself doesn’t need a PureEdit login.
CLI for power users
The direct Mac build can include the pe helper for scriptable checks from the terminal.
Reads & writes
Privacy (plain English)
- Default grammar check processes text on your device and does not upload the document to PureEdit servers.
- We don’t sell or train on your writing. There is no analytics pipeline for draft content.
- Optional AI style is separate and on-device; enabling a downloaded model may use the network once for that download.
- App Store purchases use Apple’s systems when you buy PureEdit Pro.
